Gabriel Buca, a.k.a BUCAPHOTO (b. 2001), is a Romanian, Dorset-based, freelance photographer and gallery curator with a specialisation in bouldering. Skilled in both analogue and digital photography practices. Experianced in both on-location and studio settings, with careful consideration of lighting.

Having graduated from Arts University Bournemouth in 2025, with a Master’s Distinction in Photography, and through help of The Project Climbing Centre, Poole , Buca has founded CLIMBUNITY Exhibition; an independent exhibition comprised of climbing creatives. Through these efforts, BUCAPHOTO aims at raising awerness of climbing and its creatives; expanding and investing into the creative sector of climbing. Using his academic studies, Gabriel seeks to share the knowladge he’s gained with creatives through gallery exhibitions and workshops for the public.

Although climbing is at the forefront of his independent practice, Buca’s freelance work is always expanding and open to new opportunities.
